Bud et. al. In one of the Low Band DXing handbooks ON4UN mentions he added chicken wire radials to improve his ground at home over the winter when the grass was not growing. Also some of the DXpedition groups have taken rolls of chicken wire for extra radials under Low Band antennas such as the Battle Creek Special. I think it was K9AJ who did it at one of the South Pacific Islands. The only warning is to get good galvanized wire. Otherwise it can rust out quickly. George K8GG |
