Paul continues to amaze me with his activity very late
in the season! He is now up to 105 Q's in the log on 160 and
24 countries, and most of that was done with only 100 watts! He
does have the AL-84 amplifier working now so that should have
added 5-6 dB to his signal. He has worked quite deep into the
Midwest with several stations in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan,
Iowa, Missouri and even Kansas!
Europeans have been having some problems with his 1827.5
frequency and have requested that Paul move below 1824. Starting
tomorrow, he will be operating on 1823.5 and will announce his
listening frequency as usual. In case he should be on before JA
sunrise, this will also give the JA's a chance to be heard below
1825. Recently Paul has been appearing around 0200 and you should
listen around 1823.5 after 0200 if you still need him. He will
continue to be active until he leaves on July 9 or 10 and hopefully
the summer QRN will give us an occasional good opening like he had
last night.
