(Note...contesting.com reflectors have apparently been down since
sometime Sunday...if you posted something that did not appear,
please try again...this is my 3rd try for this one!)
Paul continues to have great success and I suggested he
try just after his sunset at 1540 UTC for some different areas of
the world (JA, VK, UA6, etc). He replied as follows:
>On the JA's, I will look and call between 1600 and 1615 and again just
>before I go to bed at 18:30. I will be on 1823.5. I probably won't be able
>to use the amp as our line voltage then is normally between 155 to 175
>volts. The amp just doesn't put out at that voltage and I'm sure it is hard
>on the tubes to drive them with low filament voltage. The static level is
>up around S-9 most evenings too. I'm expecting a DHL package the end of the
>week with a relay box from W8JI so I can use the K9AY loop for listening
>with the 706. When we used it last week we had Dale's 735 on line which has
>a listening ant port.
Please remember that Paul is only one person and cannot be on
at every hour of the day. He will do the best he can while getting
a reasonable amount of sleep so he can continue operations after 0200.
Good luck to all and remember he will be QRV until about July 9.
