Both of my BOGS are right on the ground. One works fine. I was referring to the
signal level being low. I swapped boxes just to very it was only the feedbox.
It is only the feedbox.
Just surprised why all the tiny pieces and yet the primary and secondary #30
wires are fine.

I'm thinking BOGs are low by definition, but that's probably not what you were
talking about :-)
Tony, to confirm that the busted ferrite is the actual reason your BOG is low,
do you have an identical feedpoint transformer you can swap in and see if it
also has the same symptom? From your description, all we really know is that
the degradation in performance of the antenna and the condition of the
binocular core are coincidental.
Your BOG might have some other issue that replacing the ferrite won't change.
Just thinking out loud.
