hello reflectees !
As the last days, despite low WWV numbers, yielded almost no DX to North America
i tried to check with magnetograms along the suspected route of signals.
The following adress gives access to mag-field data in the three vectors of
space. It also allows to look back in time to do some survey and to combine
data
derived from practical experience with scientific data.
http://www.geolab.emr.ca/geomag/e_digdat.html
Using that i found that on all magnetometers along the path from central USA to
EU we see a clear drop on magfield intensity at the time of the good opening
last week ! That occured on 7 th of Nov from 0400 to 0500z.
Very sudden and steep decline !By the time the magfield restored ( clearly
visible in the plots on the webpage) the condx were gone dwn the drain.
Of course this is only one aspect of the whole deal. But if one monitors the
on-line data supplied by the above page, he may get a good warning for an
opening. It may be interesting to do retrospective research for the openings to
come or even to indicate one on time !
good Dx ! de wolf -df2py-
