TO0R WILL BE ON 160 TONIGHT, SUNDAY NIGHT. Glenn and Ralph
feel this is the night (even though they do not have an
amplifier right now).
They inspected the site they had envisaged, right on the
beach, with the antenna in salt water. They have picked up
the generator, cables, light, canisters etc. so they
are ready.
The shelter is just a beach gazebo (shelter on 4 poles with
no walls), so with heavy rain, they will need to evacuate.
Glenn says: freq 1826.5 QSX up, starting 19-20 GMT. They
will run pretty much through the night. Rig is FT900 and
gladiator 160 m monobander mounted in saltwater.
They will try to get AN ampLIFIER out of the containers in
customs tomorrow.
Ralph, Arie and james will put up the 10-80 m FD4 wire
dipole on Sunday afternoon, so they should be on the air
sometime on Sunday afternoon.
Peter will set up RTTY tonight, so should run with 2 el
tribander, also barefoot. The bet is on with the local hams
(1 bottle of wine at stake), that THEY will do at least 300
RTTY QSOs before leaving.
They looking for a high power station in the neighbourhood
to air another sig.
All calls TO0R, QSL all operations from now on to W4FRU.
Your pilots: ON4UN, N1DG, W0EK, K0EU, W4WW, W2IJ, JH1ROJ
