Congrats to Bernie, W3UR on working his 100th country with 100 Watts
on 160M in less than a year. The best K1HTV Top Band 100 Watt DX years
were 1994 with 102 countries worked and 1995 with 105 worked from my
suburban MD QTH. Tonight I worked C56/DK3DW with 100 Watts on 160M.
This makes the 100th country on the Top Band in the past year.
For those interested, the 100 DX prefixes worked by K1HTV with 100W (*=QRP 5W)
in the past year were:
3C,3V*,4X,5X,6W,6Y,8P*,9A,9H,9X,9Y,C5,C6*,CO,CT,CT3,CX,CY0*,D4,DL*,EA*,
EA6*,EA8,EI,EK,EM1(KC4),ER,ES,EW,F*,FM,FS,G,GM*,GU,GW,HA,HB9*,HC8*,HH,
HK,HK0(SA),HR*,I*,J3,J6,J7,JY,K*,KG4,KH6*,KH8,KL7*,KP2,KP4,LA*,LY,LZ,
OE*,OH,OK*,OM*,ON*,OX,OY,OZ*,P4,PA*,PJ8*,PJ9*,PY,PY0F,S5,S9,SM*,SP,SV,
T9,TF,TI,TI9,UA*,UA2,UR,V2*,V3,V4*,V5*,VE,VP2E,VP2V,VP5*,XE,YL,YU,Z3,
ZF*,ZL,ZS & ZS8.
The antenna (used for TX & RX) is a gamma matched 78' Rohn 25 tower
with a 17' mast with 20-15-10-2M yagis. There are 16 mostly short
(1/8 wave), crooked radials connected to the tower base.
Even with its QRN I still love the Top Band.
