I'm not sure what you mean by "in the center of the receive
antenna". But in the past I have found the following useful when
operating low bands from a restricted space location.
Get one of the MFJ noise cancelling boxes. Use the loop as the
main antenna and arrange to feed a sample of the transmitting
antenna signal into the noise antenna input on the canceller (On
RX only of course!). Then just null out the noise to the extent
possible. If the loop is indeed working OK as a receiving loop,
this works quite well.
