I have seen this pattern enough now - that I think it is significant.
These are in reverse order:
0344 k8oql 1800.5 K7RAT/B Both 559 d=2268 mi.
0332 k8oql 1800.6 K7RAT/B 539 with slow QSB
0326 k8oql 1999.6 K7RAT 549/559 ur Sundown
0312 k8oql 1800.5 K7RAT/B Nil
0307 k8oql 1999.7 K7RAT/B 329 in FM09oi Eastern
My sunset was 0323 UTC.
Same thing at the sunrise on the east coast. The higher frequency seems to
do much better when there is sunlight in the mix.
Looks like it will take more data to draw conclusions about when both ends
of the path are in darkness.
My six digit grid square is CN85tj if you want to look at sunrise/sunset
times.
