I brought up the topic a while ago of running ladder line to my dipole, making
it a windom instead, and shorting the ballanced line at the tuner to use as a
T against a counterpoise on 160. I haven't put the ladder line in yet but I
just got the idea of shorting the coax I have on there right now. I am
assuming it will do the same thing - the coax would turn in to one conductor,
right?
Would there be any ill-affect of shorting the coax because of it being a
shielded transmission line?
