I have received 13 replies, on or off list, and would like to thank all for the
quick replies. Many suggested going with 125' long radials, getting four of
them out of the 500' roll of wire. There was no real consensus about the
decision to use raised or 'on-the-ground' radials. There was consensus that
adding in shorter wires, say around 80' long in between the quarter wave
radials was a good idea, and to add additional radials as time/resources permit
is a good thing.

So my plan is to get the radials installed on the ground, which is physically
easier and easier to maintain, four 125' radials to start with more to come.

See you all on 160M,

Thanks again, Wayne N1WR
