Don't rule out the possibility that it could be a noise-maker in a home
or office near you. Examples include battery chargers (for power tools,
mobility scooters, etc.), power supplies for consumer equipment, and
plasma TV sets. If that's true, you could tune a portable AM broadcast
radio to a dead spot near the top of the AM band and walk around with
it to chase it down.

Your radio will have a loopstick antenna. Remember also that they have
a deep null off their ends and a very broad broadside peak, so you may
be able to use the null to triangulate the source. The null may,
however, be shifted by wires around you.
