Hi
Thought you might be interested in the following text received from
Sheridon HS0ZEE:
"This week end has been diabolical on 160 as several DXperdition around
like VU 4 & 7 & A43DLH, as well as RA speed contest, all working split,
I gave up a couple of times not because of the QRM but because no clear
frequency to listen on for replies, difficult to know who is calling who.
My noise level much like on 80 meters is 100% static, meter on the
Kenwood TS940s is mostly up around S+40 dips a little a couple of hours
before sunrise.
I also find I seem to copy better, despite my noise level, much better
than most stations calling me, I have had to actually call station to
get a reply, many times. It is now my standard procedure with every call
to send call signs twice. That’s 2 with the report, 2 with the closing
TU, and if not confirmed 2 again. Possible the report 2 again. So thats
as many as 8 times to identify who I am calling, so it’s not only always
me not hearing."
73s and good TB DXing.
Dave
