Thank you to everybody who replied tpo my question.
Yes, as was pointed out, it was not a Balun or even an
Unun I was looking for, but a choke.
I 'built' the 50ft of coax on a 6inch pipe, and it
worked fine.
For the ARRL contest I was using 500w in to an
inverted V at 115ft.
Luckily I had a beverage otherwise I don't think I
could have worked anybody, too much noise.
How did you find conditions ?
