Greetings Top Banders,
There will be an informal gathering of Top Band enthusiasts at this
years International DX Convention in Visalia. Arrangements have been
made for a private room at the Cask and Cleaver, a local Steak and
Seafood restaurant, for Friday evening ( 1 May 98) at 7 PM. There is no
pre-planned menu. It will be order off the menu, separate checks with a
15% gratuity added. Simple and easy to set up for me!
The program will be good food and general BS'ing with fellow Top
Banders. Loud static and other sources of QRN will be played over the
public address system to make everyone feel at home (just kidding of
course). Bring along your pictures, favorite QSL cards or other info to
share with the gang. Pictures will be taken of those in attendance for
publication on the Web.
Seating is very limited, so if 160 meters is your cup of tea, please
drop me a note asap. I'll keep a record of those folks who have "signed
up" and once we hit the limit, no other reservations can be made (unless
there are cancellations). We have approximately 10 people already on
the reservation list and we can accommodate about 20 more.
Once again, this is an informal gathering with no specific program in
mind. If someone attending is willing to do something in the way of a
program, please let me know. By chance, is there a good video out there
of interest to Top Banders we could show? I'm open for suggestions.
Also, if some one is willing to donate a prize of some kind, books or
other items of interest, that would be wonderful! If so, we'll have a
raffle as well.
