Bob - I often find that if I can get a modest null, then I can find a
much deeper and profound one with extra work either in futzing with the
adjustments of playing around with the configuration of the noise
antenna. In some cases I've amplified the noise antenna input to the
1025, sometimes changed the antenna (or switch between several choices)
but again, if you get some null you might be able to exploit it ..

Subject: Topband: MFJ 1026 Noise Canceller
Yesterday I spent a few hours setting up my MFJ 1026 Noise Canceller
using my TX antenna (1/8 wave base loaded vertical) and my K9AY loop as
the "sense" antenna.
Using both antennas I was able to peak some of the signals and obtain a
small but meaningful improvement in the SN ratio. For those of you with
one of those units laying around (mine sat unused on my desk for the
last year or two), you might want to dust it off and give it a try.
This is especially true of those who live on small lots and are "RX
challenged" like me in San Jose, CA. It could mean the difference in
hearing a station that is otherwise in the noise.
