Interesting comments from W4ZV, K8DO, et al on VK0IR propagation
Sunday evening. Here in W1, they were also peaking from the northeast
while at the same time they were absolutely booming in from the southeast
on 80 CW. Europeans were sending "pirate" on 1826.5 (one HA said that
'IR was 20 dB over 9) and I was concerned I may have worked a slim.
However, around 2300Z the signals started to drop but the propagation
began to shift to the southeast. By 2330Z, the last time I checked the
frequency, VK0IR was still audible and was clearly best on the southeast
Beverage. At the peak of the opening here around 2250Z, they were up
to 579.
