Please pardon the error on the date used on my last message about the
landing on Howland.
Yes, MARCH not February. Hey, at least I didn't say February 30.
March 2 (as I type this) USFWS team deploys onto Baker Island.
March 3 (local time) Amateur Radio team deploys onto Howland Island.
Unless they arrive early enough to land before sunset with
a meaningful amount of equipment with time to set up before
dark...on MARCH 2.
Such restraint! Only half my e-mail this morning pointed out the error...
of course the day is still young.... :-).
The team has a Force 12 Vertical to use on 160 and is aware of lowband
techniques. They will do the best they can. Please remember that for
some of them this is their first DXpedition.
