The topband propagation gods were very friendly this morning with a nice
opening between NE and Asia. Allison, BU2AQ, took great advantage of the good
prop and did a masterful job of running the NA SR, bringing joy and a new one
to many in NA. While the east coast was hearing Allison quite well early on
(around 1100z), I was not hearing him at all here in Iowa. He began coming up
very slowly but consistently with a huge peak at my SR being a full 579/589.
Having worked Allison before and knowing that many needed him, I stayed out of
the fray and just listened. K5RK, Larry #2, reported on Lowband Chat that
Allison was hitting +10/S9 near Houston. All in all, it was quite a morning
and great fun to watch.
