Reading the comments on this and other reflectors about 160 propagation and
all of the loud signals has me envious and sad of not being home to take
advantage.I am staying with friends near Bergerac France and have been
listening to the CQWW contest with a Tecsun PL660 and am amazed at how loud
a lot of north-eastern US stations are compared to the rest of the US. Last
night around midnight local time here in France I was amazed at hearing
stations from Japan on 40 meters with very decent signal strength. Even on
160 on the whimpy little PL660 signals were fantastic.
Hope everyone enjoys the season of fairly good propagation.
