Topband: BOG Question

Dear All,
 
I have a 500 foot roll of 14G THHN wire on a reel I use for a BOG.  What
is the effect of rolling out, say 175 feet, with the rest on the reel
vs. cutting the wire at 175 feet. In other words, what is the effect, if
any, of the unused wire coiled on the reel?   I'd like to avoid cutting
the wire, if possible, for obvious reasons.
