Worldwide Remote "S meter" for our Stations
Nearly 35 years after my first night (*) i spent on topband dxing together with
PT9DM and PT2GOP i imagined (**) a solution for our DX Signals simple enough
for immediate use:
1) A number of STN´s capable to receive predefined QRG´s with a stable receiver
2) And capable to "broadcast" to website(s) the images of Digitally processed,
received audio
3) With quite simple resources requirements (RCVR, PC, free Software and simple
audio interface)
A network of participants with a simple setup will allow most DX operators to:
1) Evaluate his DX signals worldwide for propagation checking
2) Conduct Propagation Tests better than the ones i participated with Stewart,
Paddy, Rolf , etc (Transequatorials)
The specifics like World Zones, QRG´s, etc could be defined during the first
phase of the "project".
(*) June 18, 1974 (WA8IJI, WB8APH, W2DEO, W2QD and CP1EU, with PT9DM 1st top
band QSO); At this memorable
night PY1RO, Rolf was in US and didn´t known of our STN, designed by me
for PT9DM using old NDB XMTR parts
and a Douglas C47 RCVR. My old call at this time was PT2FRU.
