Everyone has his own experiences, mine are different.
Stated it, polyethylene is a thermoplastic material, foam PE also a good
thermal insulator.
High density compact polyethylene softens around 248° F, low density
polyethylene already melts at 180° F. Moreover, a sustained temperature just
below melting point already makes this material to become brittle and to crack.
