Friends in Radio Land - While the consensus is that vertical antennas seem best for DXpeditions, a good number go into the field with the Battle Creek Special. In that connection, the recent remarks about power coupling problems with E-W propagation from verticals at low latitudes would suggest the "flat top" of the BCS be aligned in the magnetic N-S direction to take advantage of the large power coupling of N-S horizontal radiators at low latitudes. 73, Bob, NM7M |
