Herb: I asked Tom a similar question recently. That is, could you reduce 
vertical pickup by folding the vertical downlead back toward the feedpoint 
at a 45 degree angle. In other words, reversing the sloping termination. He 
said there might be some cancellation there but the effect would be to 
shorten the beverage. Would be interesting to try and to model.
