There have been some questions re 3Y0K and as late as this past weekend during a
presentation by KO8SCA, it was noted that this activation is pretty much going as
planned. Activity on 160m is still a go.
Gone is the K1LZ team of Krassy, LU9ESD, RN5M, K3JO and JT1CO all of whom were
strong setup and lowband players - which is unfortunate to be sure.
However, my guess is that the team will compensate somewhat using FT8 on
Topband - which should allow many contacts to be made on 160m and the lowbands.

of we CW ops from working them. We are already seeing this happen with
the KP5 expedition, and saw it happen with 8R7X and V73WW last year. I
will be astonished if the KP5s show up on 160 CW long enough to work
many more than the paltry half dozen or so that they already notched up
on 160 CW a week or more ago. Looks to me as if they're holding off on
both 40M CW and 160M CW until the very last day or two, when conditions
will suddenly plunge into the depths and almost nobody outside of
groundwave range will be able to hear them 8-(
