Who is going to construct that electronic stick?
Should not be that difficult to measure the time at the shortest shadow and
put the data in memory ( PIC ).
Followed by a free running brains...........download it all in a PC and
compute what ever you are interested in.......
Next month there will be a system on the Ham market for a couple of hundred
dollars !

Well, yes it is... using the stick and shadow method the first thing you
need is a LEVEL surface to track the tip of the shadow... So this begs the
question that I hear on the contesting reflector all the time... How do we
guarantee we have a level playing field??? That simple requirement seems to
perpetually elude that group of operators.

I think everyone should try several alignment methods.. not just for
their antenna, but just because it's fun and not particularly time
consuming. Especially the "stick and shadow" approaches. It's easy
to say, "mark when the shadow is shortest".. much tougher to actually do it.
