I recently had 13 sections of Rohn 45G re-galvanized and purchased 2
additional sections of Rohn 45G. Some of the re-galvanized sections had
excessive zinc on the inside and made it rather hard to reassembly the
tower. The new sections were no problem. I used a tower jack and it worked
on some of the (read note below) sections. The other sections took all of
my 170 lbs to get the upper section to slide down. I have the heavy duty
tower jack and its notched leg that connected to the upper section is too
short so I had to insert a tapered pin in the lower bolt hole of the upper
section and connected the tower jack to the tapered pin until I had it
pulled down enough to connect the tower jack arm to the upper tower rung.
Tower Jack please take note! The new sections were no problem.
The cost to galvanized my 13 45G sections, 5 guy brackets with torque arms,
19 turnbuckles w 1 foot adjustment, 6 equalizer plates, 3 accessory shelves
was only $522.69.
