MEL,

FYI. We have not specified our antenna VSWR at the end of 100' of
coaxial cable for several years. Even though most antennas do have a
feedline attached and few have the transmitter at the feed point of the
antenna, we found ourselves spending entirely too much time explaining
this fact to various amateurs.

Unfortunately, one reference to this old method of specification
remained buried on one of our web sites and was never removed. If you
take the time to look at our 2001 brochure, closely examining the
section on antenna specifications, no mention of 100' of feedline is
mentioned, nor has it been for years.

Incidentally there is quite a lot of information about this subject in
the Tower Talk archives as this thread is hardly new having been
discussed thoroughly in the past. If you can find any another amateur
company who specifies their product accurately, please do support that
company.

Regards,

Natan W6XR/2

I don't... they deserve to be thoroughly scolded for this kind "slight
of hand" specification. Stick to the truth... we can handle it!!!

>I think F12 is being treated a little unfairly on this issue

>"My hunch is that when F12 first developed the C-3, the 15M SWR
bandwidth
was a little tight to enable them to stay under 2:1 across this wide
band,
so they specced the antenna on 15 using 100 feet of coax to achieve that
magic number, which they thought was important for marketing purposes."
