I'll second the suggestion by Rick N6RK to follow his plans. I installed the
system he suggests, using some different suppliers and a motoe/gear assembly
with less load handling specs that he used on his much heavier tower, on the
TRX80HD for my HDX555 last summer. It works great.

Hello All:
I am interested in seeing if anyone has had experience in replacing the
Fulton hand winch on a US Tower HDX-555 with the TRX 80HD Raising Fixture,
with an electric winch - preferably a 120/220 AC Volt type. I have been
looking for a used US Tower MD-75 Motor Drive to use for this, but have not
seen any listed.
I have an Orion 2800 Rotor in the tower and a SteppIR DB18E six feet above
the top of the tower. My Fulton 2550 winch (and I) struggle to raise and
lower the tower for antenna maintenance chores. I would like to attach the
electric winch to the TRX80HD where the Fulton is located, and use the same
pulley system that is currently on both the tower and the TRX80HD. Any
information or experiences would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks for your response, Mark, K7HPH
