Hi to all,
I have had a G-1000sdx for four years and no problems whatsoever. For a couple
of years it turned a Mosley PRO-67C ( a lot of heavy metal) and held up to 80+
MPH winds. now, however it has a Force12 C-3 and a CC 5 ele 6 mtr beam still no
problems and lots of wind.
Now to my question:
Several people have suggested that I shunt feed my tower on 80 and/or 160. I
have always avoided this, because it sounds like a sure fire way to fry the
electronics in my rotor and perhaps control box. It would seem to me that there
must be some pretty high RF voltages up around the vicinity of the rotor, that
would love to find a path to ground through the rotor mechanism, electronics and
control cable. What experience/opinions do you have on this subject.
