Frank:
I have five of the M2 rotators, three AZ and two EL. Loading, over a
several year period, has ranged from "not very much" to "WAY too much".
I've had no problems with any of the rotators.
I did have a chip go bad in one of the elevation control boxes, which caused
the motor to run continuously, at its highest rate of speed, all the way to
the end of travel and break the gearbox. They sent me a new chip and a new
motor-gearbox at no charge.
I believe that problem was an electronic fluke and had nothing to do with
the mechanical integrity of the unit. Repair was easily accomplished..
I have, and have had, several other brands of rotators. Non have been as
sturdy or as reliable as the M2.
Not much else I can add.
