Thanks for the info Jim. Yeah, I'm not questioning the reason for the brake
switch, I was just wondering why one couldn't automate the "coasting" delay
rather than relying on the operator to determine when rotational inertia has
settled down.

So where do I find out about the "circuits available to do this
automatically" and the "EZ rotor upgrade"? I looked at the Hy-Gain Web site
and all they have is new products.

Well, they actually added the separate brake switch as an improvement. By
holding the brake switch down for a few seconds after releasing the CW or
CCW switch the system coasts to a stop instead of clunking to a stop with a
jerk that adds wear to the system, There are now circuits available to do
this automatically or one can add the EZ rotor upgrade and have a real fine,
computer controlled system.
