Hi Steve,

as far as I can recall, N2AA had always outstanding signal in SE Europe and
was usually the first one of "over the pond" stations we heard and worked.
Especially it's true for low bands. Other really #big# signals I still
recall were VO1MP (low bands) and K4PQL (40).

Of course, above has nothing common with current quad vs yagis discussion.

In those times, at YU1EXY we used single el. 15m loop as receiving antenna
to dig out signals, covered by rain statics.  OTOH, our 80m 3 el wire yagi
totally outperformed  two phased delta loops.  Maybe deltas (with vertical
side parallel to the building, another side parallel to the ground about 20
m above it and third one sloping) were too close to the building. The same,
at S50D, F12 MAG340 outperforms 2 el delta loop for 40 (appex at 20m), so
finally we removed deltas...
