Nor do I think most hams have the capabilities to put those lead
sheath cables under air pressure to prevent water intrusion.

Where I work we have have cables that have been buried for over 70 years
that still work just fine with no water intrusion however I do not think
anyone makes coax with a lead jacket these days.
