I think it might be a good thing that it be attached to the tree near the weight is (the rope thru an eye) so it cannot swing to far in high winds or be too far off the ground and fall on your head. 30 feet of rope with a weight attached can swing 8-10 feet might not the item you want to find late at night while chasing lawn chairs in the wind.
