When I had to relocate my repeater, to my QTH, I purchased 500' of
Davis BuryFlex. Since I had to cross two driveways, which are used
by the neighbor farmer, and the antenna would be mounted on his
100' grain auger, I opted for 1/2" EMT conduit. It took fifteen 10-foot
pieces, plus the couplings, to get from the shack to the vertical run,
the cost was, approximately, $30 extra. Keeps the heavy equipment
from crushing the coax and also protects it from "chewing" critters.
I think it was a small, additional, expense.
