My parent's have a @300' rohn in the back yard (cell company) the guy
anchors are 25' deep and 5' across (round) with a piece of 12"x8"x1/2"
I-beam Approx 15' long with 3' sticking out of the concrete above ground.
The rebar in the in the anchor is 1" welded at every junction and welded to
the I-beam. the rebar protrudes nowhere from the concrete. Now I am pretty
sure that rohn (who designed tower installation) knew what was involved when
they welded the rebar "basket" in the warehouse, but the galvanized I-beam
was attached in the field. I know I watched them.
I think that it is a matter of knowing your material and knowing (really
knowing) what you are doing.
