Agreed. Same thing here. I took an FT-60 to Best Buy before I bought my
Plasma and made sure. I have zero noise from it anywhere from 160 to 1.2

They have come a long ways.

In defense of " all Plasma TVs are inherently noisy".
I have owned a Pioneer Plasma TV for over 4 years now and I have yet to
detect any hash or noise on any of the hf ham bands. I have a loop antenna
with a preamp that I built to run down a bad power line insulator. With this
antenna connected to the xcvr I still am unable to find and rfi from the
Plasma. The TV is located in the family room adjacent to the room the shack
occupies. I will also add that all power for the audio/video equipment I
have is filtered by a "Monster" brand power line filter. But my
understanding is that Plasma rfi radiation supposedly comes from the screen,
I am not sure, the above has been my experience.

I have an LCD TV and it does not produce any noticeable noise either.

I did have a 19" LCD monitor about 5 years ago that did make a "hash"
on 20m. I got rid of it and replaced it with another LCD from
ViewSonic that has had no noise issues.

Most newer LCDs don't seem to have noise issues.

Plasma TVs are inherently noisy. I don't think there's anyway around that.

I try to discourage people from buying plasma TVs as much as possible!
