I agree. The professional foundation guy that did mine (my contractor son-in-law dug him up for me) said two or three weeks kept wet before loading it. As he put it, "For that much money, why take risks with it. Go on vacation and do it when you get back." And then proceeded to tell me a half dozen horror stories.

Probably many situations could get away with two days. BUT if you get unlucky, it's a lot of money.

Guy.

Ted:

At 24-48 hours it may be OK to bolt the tower to the concrete base,
but don't crank up the tower to its raised position. The concrete takes a
while to cure to its ultimate strength. The last time this question was
asked here, most of the responses advised waiting 2-4 weeks before you load
the concrete with anything beyond dead weight like a lilted-over tower.

Check with your concrete company and get their advice - I had 4000 psi
delivered and poured, and the company recommended 24 hours to cure
sufficiently - I waited 48 to be safe. No problems.

Hello All,

I have a question regarding tower base concrete.

How long should concrete cure after pouring to
be safe to install a crank-up, tilt over tower???
The mix is 3500 psi.

Many Thanks in advance. 73, Ted K2QMF
