A couple of posters have said that pairing two wires is equivalent to



moving up two wire sizes (2 #14's equal 1 #12) - the correct rule of
thumb is to move up THREE wire sizes (2 #18's equal 1 #15) and thus
(4 #18's equal 1 #12).
