You will be lucky if they give them away, when I worked for Comcast we had
to dispose of perfectly good ones because giving away would mean that you
are still libel for anything that my go wrong in the future. I would have
loved to give them away along with perfectly good ladders, but had to have
and file a certificate of disposal.

I have a hot stick here I use - a 30 footer and they are superb. Not
temporary poles - too heavy, but I have a delta loop supported by one right
now and there is zero weather wear on it. I had it up elsewhere supporting a
multiband vertical dipole for over three years and no noticeable wear at
all.
I unfortunately sold one but I will likely never part with this one. Easy to
raise, uber strong, and mine is painted with latex house paint for before.
The bottom half is "house color" and the upper part is a light blue. I even
added a Jackite to it once to get a wire up almost 70 feet for a temporary
antenna and it worked fine (looked a little funky though).
I've been told more than once that the power companies replace them
periodically because of dielectric concerns and that they also sell or give
away broken ones.
I'll have to hit the local utility up to see. I could sure use a couple more
to support the ends of a v-beam...
