Hello Group,
Here in my local area our power company recommends a ground electrode system as 
(3) 8' ground rods in a triangle pattern 18 feet on each side with bare copper 
wire of suitable size connecting them all together and to the service neutral 
connection point. That is all. I put in #2 bare copper wire with no joints and 
compression type acorn clamps at each rod.

May be over kill but it worked for my inspector.
