OK how about the inside of the tube(s)? They get gunked up just as bad as the
outside of the next size.

Tim,
For cleaning Aluminum tubing I've used: Leather or heavy duty rubber gloves,
green Scotch Brite pads, and WD40 as a lubricant. It's a little messy (that's
why the gloves) but the metal cleans up fairly well. Whip it down with some old
rags after cleaning. Oh, and you WILL use a few "Greenies" and lots of rags.

For the insides of the tubes I just wrapped a small piece of Scotch pad around
a phillips screwdriver and scrubbed the inside in an in-and-out motion. I had
never thought about brushes or maybe firearm cleaning brushes, although it
might take off or remove some of the aluminum.
