Usually what you find are Weller soldering guns at that power. Any good
electronics
supply should have them, however, I'd like to make a couple of suggestions.
First off, if you need something to do connectors on the tower, you dont
want to
fool with AC power. If you dont mind spending about 85 -110 bucks, Master
Appliance makes a couple of wonderful large butane-powered irons that will
give
you just as much or more heat than a 250 watt gun. They run off regular
lighter
butane and have a piezo ignition button like a gas grill for starting it
up. They are
VERY cool! ...I mean HOT! hi hi I dont even own a gun anymore...I use
the butane
one for all my connectors.
Your other choice which may be overkill, but will really carry some heat is
a
really big iron that we use at work sometimes. IT's got about a 3/4" tip
on it
and takes about 10 minutes to get really hot, but it's so massive that you
dont
have to worry about the tip cooling down before the solder melts on the
connector
I dont think it was more than about 60 or 80 watts, but it really gets hot!
sorry I dont remember the brand name offhand.
