Hi Bob and Tower gang,

I've used a Hy-Gain 18AVT for years ground mounted with great success.
No
radials , just an 8 foot G.R ( ground rod ) . Although not the most
efficient antenna I'm sure, but it does work. Right now it is ground
mounted without the G.R. , it is kind of a temporary ( permant ? ) antenna
while I put up my tower and beam. I am planning on putting radials under it
one of these days. What about a chicken wire grid type of screen underneath
? Would be better than wire ? Take care all and enjoy the weekend.....
