I am not sure if this works. Copper in the cable expands due to lightning heat. That expansion could push the protector closed. Perhaps the gas heats faster than copper. I suggest that whoever wrote this ad puts a scope on it to see the gas vs. copper reaction time. I think a Darwin probe would be best. 73!
