We had one at W3GM years ago. As I recall, Gerry had
108 of 25G (10 straight sections plus a top section)
on an insulated base (home made). He had a 24 ft
length of aluminum tubing (2 inch) out of the top
section. A 3-4 turn coil at the feed point allowed for
fine tuning. It had insulated guys and lots of
radials.
