Dave strikes a familiar chord.  

History is filled with men of genius who ignored the "accepted rules of
knowledge" and made great discoveries in spite of being outside the box.
Even Maxwell was ridiculed as being a country bumpkin with little education
by his peers.  Many pioneers were persecuted during their time only to later
be recognized as true geniuses.

I don't know about this new antenna design, but peer review and good
analytic procedures will prove or disprove its worth.
