W1XT had his feed points at 6 feet above ground and the radials were
horizontal. All radials should be well isolated from each other as there
can be very high voltage between them.
The feed points of my phased arrays are 10 feet above ground with horizontal
radials and there are high voltages present between these radials also.
W1XT and myself have observed arcing (through 600 volt insulation) when the
radials came in contact with each other. Mine are now seperated by at least
4 inches where they cross.
